We have made a slight change to our prescription form. The form is very similar to the existing form and self explanatory but you will need to delete any bookmarks you have to the existing form as it will no longer be available. Any details you have saved will no longer available
To ensure that we provide the best possible service to patients that will maintain patient confidentiality at all times we are making some changes to how patients can order their repeat prescriptions from the practice.
A number of patients come to our reception desk and ask the receptionist for a repeat prescription. This does not maintain patient confidentiality and we have been advised that we need to change this arrangement. Patients will be asked to complete a short order form for their repeat prescription.
Also when patients ask for a repeat prescription this can cause significant delays for other patients in the queue to the reception desk whilst the receptionist has to access our computer system for prescribing information. If a request form is completed the receptionist can do this work at a time when we do not have patients in the queue.
There are a number of ways that patients can order repeat prescriptions:
- By returning the form on the right hand side of the prescription
- Through a choice of your local chemist who you may authorise to collect on your behalf and if needed deliver
- By mail with a stamped addressed envelope
- Online via the link at the top of this page
We hope that this gives patients a range of options to enable them to order their repeat prescriptions.
These changes will ensure that we don’t have as many queues at the reception desk, and enables all repeat prescription requests to be dealt with in a way that maintains consistency, accuracy and confidentiality.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
